The Coctail Shrimp

Gör så här:

Krok: Partridge CS54 Saltwater Shrimp

Bind in bindtråden vid krokögat och linda bak till hullingen

Bind in en bunt Tealfjäder fibrer som mundelar pekandes bakåt
bind därefter in två vildsvinsborst som ska simulera antenner/känselspröt

Nästa moment blir att binda in en liten bunt isbjörn över/runt Teal och vildsvin

Dubba en liten kula av vildsvinets underull ovanför hullingen på kroken
detta blir huvud+stöd för ögonen

Nu är det dags att fästa ögonen, bind fast längs hela kroppen, för att bygga lite volym

Bind fast en bit monofil lina ca 0,15mm, ca 15cm lång pekandes mot krokböjen
(detta ska bli ribbing mot slutet)

Vill du ha en förtyngd räka så binder du in en bit tvinnad blytråd vid detta momentet på kroppens "undersida"
mellan krokögat och "huvudet"

Tag en Whiting Spey fjäder och rensa från det mesta "fluffet"
Lägg den på räkans rygg mellan ögonen med skaftet pekandes mot krokögat, alltså med fjäderns spets på samma håll som antenerna och isbjörnsborsten
Bind fast skaftet längs med kroppen för att öka kroppens volym ytterligare.

Dubba nu resten av räkans kropp med underullen från vildsvinet till krokögat.

Nu ska du "palmerlinda" kroppen med speyhacklet till krokögat, bind fast med några varv bindtråd.

Fukta tummen och pekfingret och tvinga försiktigt ned hackelstråna på var sida om kroppen så de pekar nedåt som räkans ben.

Tag nu -Shrimp Foilen- från dess vaxade ark och måtta fast det på räkans rygg, riktigt bra att folien är självhäftande i detta momentet. Nu ska du fästa ryggfolien vid krokögat med några försiktiga varv bindtråd. Var försiktig! Om du är FÖR brutal så är det risk att folien brister.

Nu ska du använda monofil ribbingen du band in i början. Ribba från räkans huvud i jämna varv över hela folien (ribba mellan vecken) fram till krokögat och fäst med bindtråden. Whipfinnish!
Limma gärna ryggen med lite UV-lim för att ge lite stadga åt folien och för att öka räkans livslängd.
Borsta ned lite dubbing mellan räkans "ben" för att ge flugan lite volym.

Du kan använda material i olika färgskalor

Jag vill gärna färga borst, hackel och isbjörn i samma nyans för den räkfluga jag binder
Till exempel: Light Ginger, Olive, Coral eller Dun för att nämna några

Tie in the thread at the hook eye and wrap back to the barb

Tie in a bundle of  Teal fibers  as mouthparts pointing backwards
and then two boar bristles to simulate antennae / feelers

Next step will be to tie in a small bunch of polar bear / around Teal and wild boar

Dub a small ball of boar underwoolt above the barb on the hook
this becomes head and support for the eyes

Now it's time to attach the eyes, wind the tying thread along the entire body, to build some volume

Tie in a piece of monofilament line about 0.15 mm, about 15cm long pointing to the hook bend
(This will be ribbing in the end)

If you want a heavyer shrimp tie a piece of twisted lead wire at this moment on the body's "underside"
between the hook eye and "the head"

Take a Whiting Spey hackle and clear from most "fluff"
Place it on the shrimp´s back between the eyes with the stem pointing toward the hook eye, with the tip of the hackle feather in the same direction as the antenna and the polar bear bristles.
Tie the stem along the body to increase the shrimp´s volyme.

Dub the rest of the body with underwool from the boar skin, to the hook eye.

Now, "palm wrap" the body with the speyhackel towards the hook eye, tie off with some laps tyingthread.

Moisten your thumb and forefinger and gently force down the hackel fibres on each side of the body so they point downward as the shrimp legs.

Take the -Shrimp Foil- from its waxed sheet and stick it onto the shrimp´s back, really good that the film is self-adhesive in this moment. Now you will tie down the foil by the hook eye with some cautius laps of tying thread. Be careful! If you are TOO brutal, it's likely the foil breaks.

Now, use the monofilament ribbing you tied in at the beginning. Ribb from the shrimp head in equal turns throughout the film (rib between the folds) until the hook eye and secure with tying thread. Whipfinnish!

Brush down a little dubbing between shrimp "legs" to give the fly a little volume.

Use some UV glue to give some stability to the film and to increase the shrimp´s life.

You can use materials in various color schemes

I like to dye bristle, hackle and the polar bear in the same shade for the shrimp fly I tie
For example: Light Ginger, Olive, Coral or Dun just to mention a few
